An Unexpectedly Great Place for Babies: A Review of Paju's Large Cafe, Dirty Trunk

When you have a baby, it's hard to find a quiet and peaceful moment. You might want to go to a nice cafe for a delicious meal, but you often end up turning back, worrying that your baby's noise might be a nuisance to others.

That's why I usually avoid cafes, but I recently discovered an unexpected gem: Dirty Trunk, a famous large-scale cafe in Paju that's popular on Instagram.

With its unique and trendy interior, I initially thought it wasn't a suitable place for a baby. But it turned out to have a great advantage for parents: the music is so loud that the baby's noises aren't easily heard by others. Thanks to this, I could spend time with my baby with a relaxed mind.

At first, I worried the loud music might startle the baby, but they adapted well, even sleeping soundly and playing happily in the spacious area. The food is a bit more expensive than at a neighborhood cafe, but the benefit of not having to worry about bothering people with a baby is a huge plus. It seemed other young parents felt the same way, as I saw many with their babies there.

Weekend Trip to Paju: Traffic Tips!

Traffic to Paju can get congested on weekends. Since traveling with a baby can be even more challenging, check the congestion times by day of the week to ensure a smooth trip.

  • Saturday: Traffic from Seoul to Paju is busiest in the morning, with peak congestion from about 10 AM to 12 PM. Conversely, the return trip to Seoul is most congested from 4 PM to 7 PM.

  • Sunday: The morning is relatively less busy, but the afternoon traffic for the return trip to Seoul tends to be even worse than on Saturday. From 4 PM to 7 PM, in particular, traffic volume can be so high it's often called a 'traffic nightmare.'

In conclusion, the best times to visit Paju on a weekend are to leave before 9 AM or in the late afternoon. For the return trip, it's best to head back before 3 PM or leave after dinner around 7 PM.
